Tarring Walk

The Tarring walk will include the story of St. Richard and the Bishop's Palace and the JP who was allegedly the friend of the local smugglers.

Back To All Walks

Tarring High Street is the oldest surviving street in the Borough of Worthing. It contains more listed buildings than any other street and the town's oldest pub, the George and Dragon.

Yet, eighty years ago half of this ancient street was almost demolished for road widening.

This walk will also include the story of St. Richard and the Bishop's Palace and the JP who was allegedly the friend of the local smugglers.

We meet by the lych gate of St. Andrew's Church in Church Road.
